- There is a problem (caused by Microsnot somehow bending the standard)
- with ppp.device and NT servers.
-
- Holger Kruse (father of ppp.device) has promised to release a
- work-around. Hopefully, it won't be long, because here in Denmark a lot
- of people, including most of the ISP's, are left with the false
- impression that an Amiga cannot be used with a PPP connection. And the
- longer this rumour is allowed to wander, the more likely it is that it
- will become "a known fact".
-
- The somewhat unfortunate "No PAP"-limitation in the unregistrered
- ppp.device adds to the confusion and frustration, because many people
- have registrered it without being able to try it out first, only to
- discover that they cannot use it at all.
-
- Holger: If you read this I suggest that you remove this limitation; the
- 40% speed increase should be more than enough to encourage people to
- register.
